Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s Youth Ballet has announced its summer tour plans for “High Jinx in Paris,” an original ballet by Susan Perlis.

Youth Ballet will tour the Baton Rouge area through June 12, with free public performances at area libraries and venues.

“High Jinx in Paris” is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the Baker Library, 3501 Groom Road, and at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Zachary Library, 1900 Church St.

Both libraries request that attendees preregister. Call the Baker branch at (225) 778-5960 or the Zachary branch at (225) 658-1860.

Directed by Rebecca Acosta and Perlis, Youth Ballet is composed of a select group of dancers ages 10 to 14 who are chosen each spring in citywide auditions. The program gives young dancers the opportunity to improve technique and develop performance skills while sharing their talents with the community, the release said.

To offset the cost of the 30-performance tour, Youth Ballet will host a fundraiser at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dancer’s Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court, Baton Rouge.

Admission is $5 per child and $10 per adult.
