A 20-year-old Baton Rouge man was charged Wednesday in the July 11 shooting death of a friend in the driveway of the alleged shooter's home.

Tyreece Holliday, 3275 Kimberly Drive, was indicted on a second-degree murder charge in the killing of Deon Womack, 18.

Holliday denied shooting Womack, police have said.

Holliday had been seen shooting a .22-caliber rifle in his backyard earlier that day, authorities have said.

The case is assigned to state District Judge Chip Moore.
