A Baton Rouge man was indicted Thursday in the July 30 stabbing death of his former girlfriend in his Goodwood Boulevard home.
Miquel Angel Lopez, 42, was charged with second-degree murder in the killing of 41-year-old Sara Hernandez.

Police have said Lopez stayed with Hernandez's body for 10 to 14 hours after her throat was slashed in his bedroom at 13586 Goodwood Blvd.
When police arrived at his home, Lopez had multiple defensive cuts on his forearms, hand, fingers and one severe cut on his stomach that caused internal damage, an arrest report states.
The case is assigned to state District Judge Tony Marabella.
