Authorities are looking for a missing Baton Rouge woman whose car recently was found burned in north Baton Rouge.

The woman, Tahereh Ghassemi, 54, was last heard from around 8 p.m. Saturday, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Her car, a blue 2004 Jaguar sedan, was found destroyed — apparently torched — about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 9600 block of Chalma Avenue, Hicks said.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the disappearance of Ghassemi or about the damage to her vehicle to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
