Neighbors rescued a home owner from a house fire Sunday night on North 39th Street, according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department. The homeowner was treated by EMS but did not require hospitalization. No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters arrived on scene around 7:45 p.m. to find smoke coming from the rear of the house, according to a Fire Department news release. Fire crews were able to keep the fire contained in the rear of the house, but the house did receive heavy fire and smoke damage estimated at $30,000.

The cause of this fire is undetermined. No foul play is suspected.
