East Baton Rouge sheriff’s detectives Thursday were looking for a man accused of stealing a flat screen TV from the Sam’s Club on North Mall Drive early Wednesday evening and speeding off in a pickup truck.

The man entered the store and told the greeter he had a gun, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release. He then pushed a shopping cart to the TV section, which is located near the entrance, the release states.

The man left with a Vizio TV he placed in the bed of his truck and then sped toward Siegen in an older model Chevy pickup truck with no license plate.

The robber is described as older black male who was wearing white shoes, faded blue jeans, a gray shirt, blue jacket and a black and white skull cap with unknown design on it. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored older model two-door Chevrolet “Show truck” pickup with dark tinted windows and a chrome grill.

Anyone with information concerning this incident or the identity of the robber is asked to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office at 225-389-5000.
