Fire investigators were called to the scene of a suspicious fire Wednesday afternoon after St. George firefighters doused a blaze at a vacant fourplex that had no utilities connected, said Eldon Ledoux, spokesman for the St. George Fire Department, in a news release.

Firefighters were dispatched to the multi-family home, 8603 Rush Ave., at 1:03 p.m. and saw flames and smoke coming from a downstairs unit. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes, but the fire remains classified as “suspicious” until the cause and origin of the fire are identified, Ledoux said.
