A pregnant woman was struck and injured by a vehicle Wednesday night during a domestic dispute near the intersection of Geronimo and Winnebago streets, police said.
Authorities were called to the 3800 block of Geronimo Street at about 10:20 p.m. after a man's ex-girlfriend showed up to the area, sparking a dispute involving her, the man and his current girlfriend, said Cpl. L'Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman.
At some point, the ex-girlfriend climbed into her vehicle and allegedly struck the current girlfriend, who is 24 years old and pregnant, with the vehicle, McKneely said.
The 24-year-old woman was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, McKneely said.
Mike Chustz, an EMS spokesman, said the woman was transported with moderate injuries.
McKneely said police would like to question the ex-girlfriend, who is 36, about the incident. But a warrant has not been issued for her arrest, he said.
The police department's Major Assaults division is investigating the incident.
