BR man booked in Prescott Road shooting
Baton Rouge police on Tuesday arrested the man accused in the July 13 Prescott Road shooting that left a 38-year-old man fighting for his life.
Police booked Jonathan Foster, 25, 1532 Olive St., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. in the 5600 block of Prescott Road, between North Foster Drive and Airline Highway.
The shooting occurred after the victim threw a bottle at Foster during an altercation, prompting Foster to run downstairs while yelling at the victim, pull a revolver and shoot the victim in the chest, police have said.
Police: Man raped, molested teenage girl
A Baton Rouge man accused of raping and molesting a young girl several times in the past four years has been arrested.
The victim, now 16, told investigators she was 12 when Deon Bradford first raped her, after she took a bath. He then threatened to whip her if she told anyone about it, the arrest warrant says.
The next attack, the warrant says, came a year later when he raped her in the back of his pickup truck after asking, “You want some?” When she tried pushing him off, he slapped her and told her to shut up.
The latest attack occurred on July 12 when he touched her genitals, the warrant says.
Bradford, 42, 5343 Jackson Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of aggravated rape, forcible rape and sexual battery.
Man said to have fired gun during argument
Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday arrested a man accused of firing a shot at his girlfriend’s son during a July 7 argument.
The incident began when James Tito Rowe, 37, and his girlfriend started arguing and the girlfriend’s son intervened, telling Rowe to hit him instead, the arrest warrant says.
Rowe grabbed a handgun, chambered a round and continued arguing, even chambering a second round at one point, the warrant says.
When Rowe’s girlfriend tried to calm them down, Rowe punched her in the face and walked outside, followed by her son, the warrant says.
Outside the home, her son accused Rowe of wanting to fight only women, the warrant says. At that moment, Rowe pulled out the handgun again and fired one shot into the ground near the victim.
Rowe, 16441 S. Harrell’s Ferry Road, Apt. 201, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and simple battery.
