A 24-year-old man accused of robbing the Whitney Bank on Coursey Blvd. last Friday has been arrested in South Carolina.

Michael Rossi, whose photograph at the bank was released by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office last week, was identified with the assistance of his family members, who confirmed he was the person in the surveillance footage. He had left work earlier in the day on Friday, saying he had to go to the bank, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect apparently had also been involved in a hit-and-run accident before the robbery. The victim in that accident provided the sheriff’s office with a South Carolina license plate “that led detectives to Rossi,” a news release stated.
