A man who fled from a car during a traffic stop, sparking a brief manhunt, was arrested Tuesday in Baton Rouge.
Brady Jones Jr., 19, of Denham Springs, faces counts of aggravated flight from an officer, no seat belt, driving with a suspended license, as well as outstanding warrants from the Denham Springs Police Department, said State Police spokesman Trooper First Class Bryan Lee.
Lee said earlier authorities believed the fleeing man was wanted for attempted murder from Denham Springs, but Denham Springs Police spokesman Glenn Lemoine said Jones’s warrants from that city are for aggravated flight, auto theft, and traffic violations.
Lee said that at about noon a trooper tried to pull over a car in the Glen Oaks area of Baton Rouge near Grayson Avenue and Kilona Drive. Jones ran out of the car, leaving behind two other passengers who did not flee, Lee said. Jones was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
