The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in an investigation of gunfire exchanges that broke out July 3 at two locations in Donaldsonville, Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said in a news release Thursday.

Deputies were searching for Larry Earl Miles, 22, 924 Elizabeth St., Donaldsonville, in connection with the shootings, and were trying to identify a fifth man possibly implicated in the shootings, Bacala said.

Detectives have arrest warrants accusing Miles of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, disturbing the peace and aggravated assault, Bacala said.

The conflict began in the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot and carried over later that night to an Elizabeth Street residence, Bacala said.

On July 7, deputies arrested two Gonzales men: Demetrius Christopher Williams, 21, 1108 S. Hempshire St.; and Anthony Marquette Clark, 20, 205 E. Roosevelt St., and booked each with one count of attempted second-degree murder, five counts of criminal damage to property, illegal use of a weapon and disturbing the peace.

Malcolm Oliver, 22, 201 Madewood St., Donaldsonville, later surrendered to authorities in connection with the shootings. Oliver was booked on counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, disturbing the peace and aggravated assault in connection with the shootings, Bacala said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4636 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
