A Baton Rouge man accused of robbing and shooting a store owner has been arrested, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Roderick J. Gray, 23, 1350 Sora St., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison late last week by Baton Rouge police on counts of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and felon in possession of a firearm, according to the affidavit.

During the robbery, which occurred at 3:55 p.m. on July 20, Gray pointed a gun at the victim and fired several shots at point-blank range, the affidavit says.

The victim was hit in the leg while other bullets narrowly missed the upper portion of the victim’s body and face, the affidavit says.

Gray left with the victim’s wallet, as well as cash from the register, the affidavit says.

The victim told police he knew Gray personally and identified Gray in a photo lineup as the robber, the affidavit says.
