No one was injured in a house fire Monday at 11551 Flamingo Drive that caused $150,000 in damage, Central Fire Department Capt. Derek Glover said in a news release.
A neighbor told the homeowner, who was inside at the time with her children, that the back of the house was on fire, Glover said.
Firefighters received a call about the fire at 6:46 p.m., Glover said.
He did not say how long it took firefighters to get the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Glover said.
A house next door had some heat damage because of the fire, Glover said.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department and District 6 Fire Department assisted with working the fire, Glover said.
Red Cross also was called out to help the homeowner, Glover said.
