State Police arrested a Texas man in Tangipahoa Parish after searching his Ford F-250 pickup truck and discovering about 200 pounds of marijuana — an amount worth up to $200,000, police said.

A trooper pulled over Matthew Llanas, 37, for improper lane use while he was heading east on Interstate 12 at around 8 a.m. Monday, said Master Trooper Greg Marchand, a State Police spokesman. But during the stop, the trooper noticed Llanas was acting suspiciously and called in a police dog unit with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Marchand said. Soon after, police discovered the marijuana.

Llanas was driving the drugs from Texas to Atlanta, Marchand said.

Llanas was booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail for possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
