Laroy Turnipseed

The head of a local security company is accused of taking money for post-flood contractor work that he never completed, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office report.

Investigators say La'Roy Turnipseed, 44, who heads Turnipseed Cameras and Security LLC CEO La'Roy Turnipseed, accepted $4,000 in September to remove and replace an air conditioning unit in a flooded home on Green Ridge Drive but never completed the work.

Turnipseed has previously been arrested on counts of felony theft and simple criminal damage to property, according to the sheriff's office report.

Turnipseed, of 9154 San Lo Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on a warrant on Friday on contractors misapplication of payments prohibited.
