Baton Rouge police Friday arrested a man accused of making sexual advances toward a 12-year-old girl and touching her inappropriately.

The victim told investigators that Leoncia Alvarado, 51, first made sexual advances toward her during a New Year’s Eve party, according to an arrest warrant.

Later in the evening, Alvarado grabbed the victim while she was hiding under a blanket because someone in the room had passed gas, the warrant says.

He again made sexual advances toward her on Feb. 7 when they were left alone together in a family member’s living room, police said.

Alvarado, 5617 Douglas Ave., was booked into Parish Prison on counts of sexual battery, indecent behavior with a juvenile and possession of a Schedule II drug.
