A 19-year-old and 20-year-old were arrested Monday in two armed robberies of cellphones at Wildwood and The Exchange apartments, two complexes located near LSU, according to Baton Rouge Police.

Justin Perry and Elijah Lucido are accused of approaching two people at the apartment complexes and threatening them with a handgun to hand over their cell phones, their arrest reports say.

Lucido, Perry and another unknown subject first approached someone at 5959 Burbank Drive, the address of the Wildwood apartment complex, about 2:30 a.m. Monday, the reports say.

Lucido stole a $700 iPhone from the victim's hand by forcefully grabbing it while Perry watched, the reports say. Lucido then told Perry to run away, while Lucido stayed with the victim, pushed and slapped the person, then threatened the victim with a black object in his pocket, believed to be a handgun, the reports say.

Later, Lucido pointed a fully loaded handgun at someone at 449 Ben Hur Road, the address of The Exchange apartment complex, demanding the person's phone, the reports say. After the victim gave the phone to the men, Lucido fired a round of shots to threaten the victim.

Wildwood and The Exchange are less than a mile apart and both advertise as options for LSU student housing.

Lucido and Perry were later found by police with the two phones and a Ruger 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen, the reports say. The phones were returned to the victims.

Perry, 1223 Flora Lane, was booked Monday into Parish Prison on two counts of armed robbery and a count of possession of a stolen firearm. Lucido, 5151 Highland Road, Apt. 401, was also booked Monday into Parish Prison on two counts of armed robbery as well as counts of illegal carrying of a firearm, illegal possession of stolen things and resisting an officer.
