Son of St. John the Baptist sheriff booked on DWI _lowres

Jared M. Tregre, 20, of LaPlace, the son of St. John the Baptist Sheriff Michael Kerry Tregre, was booked at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on underage DWI and a stop sign violation.

According to the arrest report, he failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle at 1200 Bob Pettit Ave. His blood-alcohol level was 0.157 percent, the report says. The legal limit for underage DWI is 0.02 percent.

Authorities arrested at least four other people, including another underage, suspected of other DWIs in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Friday. They are:

Hunter Sampson, 19, 13816 Marlin Ave., Central, underage DWI, stop sign not yielded and failure to signal turn.

Dwight Jones, 28, 4554 Alvin Dark Ave., first-offense DWI and failure to maintain control.

James Henley, 32, 410 County Road 428, Jonesboro, Arkansas, first-offense DWI, failure to signal turn and speeding.

Caleb Welch, 27, 30940 Lavigne Road, Albany, first-offense DWI and reckless operation
