Interstate is now open near I-110 split.
An 18-wheeler that overturned on Interstate 10 near the I-110 split, that snarled traffic and closed at least two interstate ramp closures, was removed shortly after 3 p.m., a police spokesman confirmed.
Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said he had received word that the accident scene was clear and traffic was again moving on the interstate after the westbound ramps to East Washington Street and the new Mississippi River bridge had been closed.
McKneely said the driver of the 18-wheeler, which was carrying water, suffered a minor injury but was OK.
