Police arrested a man Tuesday in his alleged involvement in threatening another man with a shotgun and stealing his prescription pills at a car dealership July 1, according to an arrest warrant.

David Allen Blanchard, 34, 31459 La. 1036, Holden, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery.

Police arrested Matthew Abbott, 28, on Aug. 3 in connection with the same incident.

The victim met Abbott at the dealership — Alleman Auto Imports on 9253 Airline Highway — to work out a deal on a used car, the warrant says.

Abbott works at the dealership, the warrant says.

The victim was sitting in Abbott’s office when a bottle of prescription pills fell out of his pocket, the warrant says.

Abbott told the victim to let the pills stay on the floor and leave, the warrant says.

The victim refused to leave the pills. Abbott pulled out a shotgun, pointed it at the victim and demanded the pills, the warrant says.

Abbott and Blanchard then attacked the victim and pried the pills from his hands, the warrant says.

Abbott and Blanchard fled the scene, the warrant says.

Abbott, 33893 Cane Market Road, Walker, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery.
