Deputies arrested Anthony Ayrow at his home Saturday about 1:30 a.m., Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release.
Detectives say Ayrow killed the 63-year-old Jones.
Ayrow, 125 Alvin St., Napoleonville, was booked Saturday into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on counts of first-degree murder, convicted felon carrying a firearm and armed robbery. Bail has not yet been set.
The investigation is ongoing, Waguespack said. Anyone with information on the case may call the Criminal Investigative Division at (985) 526-1627 or Communications Division at (985) 369-2912.
