Lafayette Police said a 23-year-old woman who was found dead in her home Sunday night was the victim of a homicide, but they’re unsure how she was killed.

A person, who was not identified, went to the victim’s home at 300 Taft Street at about 8 p.m. to check on her and found her body, Paul Mouton, a spokesman for the Lafayette Police Department, said in a news release.

“The exact cause of death has not been determined,” Mouton said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
