Patrick Reed

A Baton Rouge man was arrested Thursday after police said he shot at a group of people walking home from a balloon release Sunday, according to an arrest report.

Patrick Labrando Reed, 47, pulled up to the group in a pink Dodge Challenger, got out of the car in the 2300 block of Carolina Street and started shooting, according to Reed's arrest report.

Police said he shot one man in the hand and narrowly missed hitting a woman in the head. Bullets also hit a house, a vehicle and an air conditioning unit, police said.

A short time after the shootings, Reed drove in the same pink Dodge Challenger to a police station and told officers that his car was shot up while driving in that area, according to the report. When police showed the victim a photo of Reed, he identified Reed as the man who shot him, the report says.

Reed, of 2245 College Drive, Apt. 69, Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on illegal use of a weapon, attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.
