A 53-year-old Baton Rouge woman died Sunday night after she was struck by a motorcycle while walking on Burbank Drive near Gardere Lane, State Police said.
Karen Tullier died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after she was hit by a 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 23-year-old Devin Alleman shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, Trooper 1st Class Bryan Lee, a State Police spokesman, said.
Alleman, of Plaquemine, suffered injuries Lee described as “moderate” in the crash and was also taken to Our Lady of the Lake for treatment.
Lee said Tullier was walking in the westbound lane of Burbank when she was hit.
Troopers are still investigating the crash, Lee said. It remains unclear if impairment was a factor in the crash, Lee said, but toxicology samples from Tullier and Alleman have been submitted for analysis.
