An overnight fire at a Baton Rouge apartment complex damaged several units and displaced four families, fire officials said.

The fire started around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hawthorne Heights Apartments in the 2100 block of North Lobdell Boulevard, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said. Firefighters at the scene found the office of the complex on fire.

The blaze caused smoke damage to nearby apartments, and four families were displaced because of the damage, Monte said. The complex is working to place those families elsewhere.

No injuries were reported. The fire was called under control at 5:09 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Foul play is not suspected, Monte said.
