A Baton Rouge man was shot to death at his home Wednesday.

Anthony Johnson, 23,was shot and killed while sitting on the porch of his 1837 Plank Road home, Baton Rouge Police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. said in a news release.

Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide. There are no known suspects or motives at this time, Coppola said.

A man who asked to be identified only as Johnson’s uncle said he found his nephew, who had apparently been shot three times, lying on the porch of their home Wednesday night.

“Some punk ran up on the porch and shot him three times,” the uncle said.

The uncle said his nephew wasn’t perfect, but “he was a genuine guy.”

Jeremy Johnson, standing outside his brother’s home about 9 p.m. Wednesday, said Anthony Johnson went by “D” — his middle name was Dakota — and he lived at the Plank Road home only for a few months.

“He was a good person,” Jeremy Johnson said. “I’ll love him forever.”

Dajah Johnson, the 16-year-old sister of Jeremy and Anthony, said she last saw her brother Anthony a few days ago.

“He was a good brother,” Dajah Johnson said.
