Two men robbed an overnight grocery store in Baton Rouge Tuesday using a cinder block, said Cpl. Don Coppola, spokesman for the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The men broke into Adams Grocery, 1455 N. Acadian Thruway West, about 3:05 a.m., striking a store employee in the face with a cinder block as that person was unlocking the front door for another employee, Coppola said.

The two suspects then raided the cash register inside and left with an undisclosed amount of money as well as some merchandise, Coppola said. The employee is being treated at a local medical facility for his injuries.

Both men were described as black, 5’ 8”, medium build, dark complexion and wearing a dark colored jackets. One man was wearing dark pants while the other was wearing white jogging pants with dark stripes, Coppola said.
