Four people were injured in a shooting Sunday about 5 p.m. in the 10300 block of Avenue H and four others are in police custody following the gunfire, said Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely.

Police pursed the suspects from the shooting scene to south Interstate 110 near the Governor's Mansion curve, McKneely said. There, the suspects ran from their vehicle into a nearby neighborhood, where they were soon taken into custody, he said. They were taken into questioning, McKneely said.

The four injured were transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries, McKneely said.

Police continue to investigate the incident.

McKneely asked that anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Major Assaults Division (225) 389-3844 or Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP(7867).
