A 34-year-old man was shot twice in the chest just after 10:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of Jean Street, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.
The man’s injuries are not life-threatening but require surgery. McKneely said the bullets that inured a man late Tuesday were intended for someone else.
A fight occurred just before the shooting and investigators said they believe the bullets were meant for someone the victim was with, not the victim himself, McKneely said.
No arrests have been made in the shooting and no suspects have been named. A motive also has not been determined.
Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Police Department at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
