CLINTON - East Feliciana Municipal Police Strike Group officers arrested five people Friday accused of committing various crimes in Clinton, a Police Department spokesman said.

Police Staff Sgt. James Cook said in a news release that two Clinton men were arrested and booked with possession of cocaine.

They were identified as Gregory Maurice Flowers, 30, 10687 Roosevelt St.; and Kerry Donnell Matthews, 35, 11207 Clarence St.

Flowers was booked into East Feliciana Parish Prison on one count of distribution of crack cocaine, Cook said.

Matthews was booked on two counts of distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of a firearm with drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, Cook said.

Officers also arrested Clovis Matthews Jr., 31, 10641 Roosevelt St., Clinton, in an investigation of theft of tires and rims worth more than $1,200 from a car parked at a Roosevelt Street residence, Cook said.

Officers arrested a man and a woman implicated in a series of incidents at Clinton Main Street Market earlier in the month, Cook said.

Tyra Blain Grimes, 40, 11726 Bank St., Clinton, was booked on one count each of indecent exposure and theft under $300, Cook said.

James Haynes Jr., 27, 13235 Liberty St., Clinton, was booked on one count each of principal to theft under $300, resisting arrest and public intoxication in connection with the same incident, Cook said.
