A vacant house in Baton Rouge was damaged early Friday in a fire believed to be the third case of arson in the city this week, according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Firefighters were called shortly after 3 a.m. to the 2800 block of Laurel Street, where they found a house partially engulfed in flames, Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said in a news release. No one was injured in the fire, which was extinguished quickly.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call fire investigators at (225) 354-1419.

Two other vacant houses, one on East Grant Street and another on Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive, were damaged in arson-caused fires Thursday morning.

Monte said investigators do not have any evidence indicating the fires are related.
