The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday arrested a St. Helena man accused in a Sunday night slaying.

The Sheriff’s Office said in a written release that deputies arrested Ryan O’Neal Bradford on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a tip about his location.

On Sunday, deputies responded about 11 p.m. to a possible shooting and found Corey Muse shot dead sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle on Hall Road, said Joe Chaney, the Sheriff’s Office chief of detectives. Chaney said Muse’s car was parked in the road, and his window was down.

“Motive appears to be robbery,” Chaney said. “We believe there were other folks involved based on the information obtained.”

The Sheriff’s Office anticipates more arrests. No further information was available Tuesday night, but the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies arrested Bradford without incident on a count of first-degree murder.

Bail has not been set, Chaney said.
