Police arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of raping three young boys, forcing the 10-year-old to sexually assault the other two, both 8 years old.

A man reported to police on Dec. 29 that Joshua Jarrell Edwards, 30, sexually assaulted the three boys while at their grandmother’s Baton Rouge house. On Jan. 5, the man told police he had learned new information, that the 10-year-old may have been forced to assist Edwards, the police report says.

Detectives and staff at the Children’s Advocacy Center interviewed the 10-year-old victim, who said Edwards had raped him numerous times during the last two or three years, the report says. The boy told officials Edwards raped him again on Dec. 29 while he was staying with his grandmother and that Edwards told him he would kill him if he told anyone.

The 10-year-old also told officials that Edwards also forced him, again under threat of death, to sexually assault the two 8-year-old boys.

A warrant for Edwards’ arrest was issued Jan. 7, and Edwards, 2132 Gardere Lane, was booked Thursday into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on three counts of first-degree rape.

Edwards’ bail is set at $600,000.
