Two motorists died early Sunday in a crash on La. 70 in Assumption Parish, State Police said.
Lester Albarado, 51, was driving north in Pierre Part about 6:30 a.m. when his pickup truck crossed the center line at a turn in the road, State Police spokesman Trooper 1st Class Evan Harrell said in a news release.
The pickup crashed head-on into another pickup truck, killing its driver, Gabriel Plaisance, 57, Harrell said.
The men, both of Pierre Part, were pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said.
Both drivers were not wearing seat belts, Harrell said
Toxicology tests are pending for both drivers, and the crash remains under investigation.
