The woman who was involved in a two-vehicle crash on South Acadian Thruway Monday morning is still alive and is in critical condition at a hospital, a police spokesman said.
Police earlier in the day reported the woman died in the accident.
The crash occurred on South Acadian, near Capital Heights Avenue, at about 10:40 a.m., police spokesman Don Coppola Jr., said. Police suspect the crash was caused by a medical event.
Police had closed down both lanes of South Acadian between Capital Heights and Claycut for about two hours while they investigated the crash.
