The Sheriff’s Office arrested two teenagers Friday night after they were accused of robbing a 79-year-old woman who lives on Woodland Oaks Avenue.
Corey Williams, 17, and Baylen Trim, 18, had at least one gun in their possession when they stole money from a homeowner on Woodland Oaks Drive around 2:15 p.m. Friday, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office report says.
The victim heard someone ring her doorbell and opened the door. The teenagers shoved a gun against her chest and pushed her back into the house, demanding money from her, the report says.
The victim told deputies she gave Williams and Trim $200 from her purse, at which point one of them said “this is not all you have,” the report says. She then gave them $3,000 she had in a drawer in the living room, the report says.
Afterward, one of the men pushed her to the ground, and then they both ran out the door, the report says.
The victim gave deputies a description of the two teenagers, which was broadcast over a radio to responding deputies. Deputies in the area found them about 100 yards from the victim’s house, the report says. Williams and Trim ran across Airline Highway when they were spotted, but were taken into custody shortly after.
Deputies found $1,400 on Williams, but no gun in the duo’s possession, the report says.
Williams and Trim were both booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of armed robbery use of a firearm, simple battery or a person with infirmities and resisting an officer.
