Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of punching his live-in girlfriend in the face in front of her two children, then dragging her back into the home when she tried to flee.
Robert Alexander, 31, asked his girlfriend to step into the bedroom with him, but then he started hitting her while her children watched, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The woman tried to run away, but Alexander grabbed her and pulled her inside, scraping her legs, and then threw her against a wall and briefly choked her, the affidavit says.
Deputies were called because an off-duty Iberville Parish sheriff’s deputy was awakened by people shouting outside his home, according to the affidavit. When deputies arrived at the home in the 9400 block of El Scott, they found the front door open and saw a woman run from the bedroom naked from the waist up, the affidavit says.
Alexander, of the 9400 block of El Scott, was booked Monday into Parish Prison on counts of domestic abuse battery, false imprisonment and disturbing the peace.
