Baton Rouge police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man accused of drunkenly slamming into another car head-on in late November after driving the wrong way on Interstate 10, injuring two people and himself.

Lionel Galvan was driving west in a Kia on the eastbound lanes of I-10 in Baton Rouge when he crashed into an oncoming car, according to a police report. The car’s two other passengers were taken to a hospital with multiple broken bones, and Galvan appeared drunk when questioned, the report says. His blood-alcohol content was 0.226 percent — almost three times the legal limit for driving.

Galvan, 5733 Clyde Lane, Austin, Texas, was booked Wednesday into Parish Prison on counts of first-offense DWI, first-degree vehicular negligent injuring and reckless operation.

In the most recent incident, Marlon Richard and a second assailant approached two people in a car outside the Jefferson Lakes Apartment Complex at 12400 Jefferson Highway and demanded that the victims hand over their valuables, according to a police report. The two then ran off.

About a month earlier, on Nov. 12, Richard had sex with a 16-year-old girl who then became pregnant with his child, according to a police report.

Richard, 11496 Baylor Drive, was booked Wednesday into Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery and misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
