BR man, 36, accused of touching girls

Baton Rouge police on Wednesday arrested a 36-year-old man accused of inappropriately touching two girls on several occasions over a four-year span between Jan. 1, 2009, and Feb. 13.

Police booked Isaac Green, 10566 Kenlee Drive, Baton Rouge, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on four counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and one count of molestation of a juvenile, a warrant says.

The first victim told police that Green once offered her money to let him touch her, the warrant says.

BR man arrested in choking ex-girlfriend

Parish Prison on one count each of home invasion, domestic abuse battery and simple battery, an affidavit of probable cause says.

Patton pushed the air conditioner in, crawled in through the space and began attacking his ex-girlfriend, who told police the couple broke up about two weeks ago, the affidavit says.

Patton also struck a neighbor who tried to pull Patton off the victim, the affidavit says.

A 25-year-old man accused of entering his ex-girlfriend’s apartment without consent and hitting and choking her was arrested Wednesday.

Baton Rouge police arrested a 26-year-old man Wednesday after he allegedly had sex on Dec. 7 with a 15-year-old girl he met on Facebook.

According to a warrant, Camry Singleton met the victim on Facebook in November 2011 and began texting her when he found her phone number on her Facebook profile.

On Dec. 7, the victim texted Singleton to bring her something to eat and instead of bringing her somewhere to eat, Singleton took her to an apartment where they had sex, the affidavit says.

Police booked Singleton, 6630 Seigen Lane, Apt. 191, Baton Rouge, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, the affidavit says.

Deputies: Meth labfound in man’s closet

A 30-year-old man accused of creating a methamphetamine lab in a closet in his home was arrested.

Joshua Williford, 5104 Berryville Court, Baton Rouge, was booked Tuesday by East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies with creation/operation of a drug lab and possession of methamphetamine, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Williford was confronted by deputies outside his home Tuesday and questioned about drug activity in Iberville Parish.

A fire of undetermined origin caused about $165,000 in damage to a vacant two-story house on Glendale Avenue that was being renovated to sell, a Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman said.

Firefighters arrived at the house at 2151 Glendale Ave. at about 4 p.m. and found the attic on fire, spokesman Curt Monte said in a news release.

The fire was contained to the attic, but the floors below were damaged by smoke and water, Monte said.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by 4:42 p.m., he said.

The fire was discovered when the house’s caretaker stopped by to check on it and smelled smoke, Monte said. The man shut off the electrical breaker and called the Fire Department, Monte said.

No one was in the house and no injuries were reported, Monte said.

The fire is still under investigation.

Two arrested in theftfrom senior citizen

The other suspect, Amy Cain, 28, 2245 College Drive, Apt. 168, Baton Rouge, was arrested Feb. 14 and booked on counts of felony theft, attempted felony theft, unauthorized use of an access card and theft of assets of an aged or elderly person, a different warrant says. She is still in prison, online prison records show.

The investigation began when the victim’s daughter, who has power of attorney for him, contacted police regarding a $10,000 check sent to her father’s address that he never received, but that had been cashed already, warrants say.

Employment records show Cain was the caregiver of the man when the credit card was stolen and used, according to a warrant.

Acouple who defrauded a 65-year-old man of nearly $20,000 via unauthorized credit card purchases and withdrawals and illegal check cashing have been arrested.

Authorities arrested at least seven people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

  • Bradley Bercegeay, 26, 17347 Levern Stafford Road, Prairieville, first-offense DWI, stop sign/yield sign, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II drugs, insurance required and seat belt violation.
  • Lionel Harris, 31, 5319 Wexford Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle and driver’s license suspended/revoked.
  • Mike Lonero, 46, 41136 Rue Chene, Ponchatoula, first-offense DWI, drinking in a motor vehicle, speeding and reckless operation of a vehicle.
  • Kevin Lyons, 45, 15855 S. Sunderland, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, headlights required and possession of alcohol in a vehicle.
  • Lydia Manning, 55, 2133 Colorado St., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, driver’s license suspended/revoked and improper lane usage.
  • Tracy Rachal, 30, 1144 Valcour Drive, Baton Rouge, second-offense DWI, backing unsafely and driver’s license suspended/revoked.
  • Heather Watson, 39, 16725 Morel Ave., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI.
