A Baton Rouge police officer was injured Thursday trying to handcuff a woman accused of prostitution.

The incident began after police received complaints about a website used to solicit prostitution. Undercover officers contacted listed escort Jasmine, later identified as Corneesha Nelson, 22, and they agreed to meet in Room 201 of Springhill Suites Marriot, 7979 Essen Park Ave., according to the police report.

One detective, who met Nelson in the room, agreed to Nelson’s “two-girl special” for $250, which would include another escort named “Nina,” later identified as Ericka S. Hayes, 26, who was waiting downstairs, the report says.

When the deal was struck, the detectives then revealed themselves as police officers and attempted to arrest the two women.

They brought the women together in the hotel room. While attempting to arrest the women, Nelson ran and the detective ran after her. They left Hayes with the other detective alone in the hotel room, the report says. When the detective attempted to handcuff Hayes, she yelled, wrestled with him, grabbed one of his testicles and twisted it, and bit his right wrist.

Nelson was taken into custody before she was able to leave the hotel. Hayes was arrested after that.

Nelson, of 242 East Oakland St., Toledo, Ohio, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of prostitution and resisting an officer. Hayes, of 5808 Ryewyck Drive, Toledo, Ohio, was booked on a count of promoting prostitution, battery on an officer and resisting by force or violence.
