A Baton Rouge EMS transport on the way to an emergency call flipped over after another vehicle crashed into it, officials said.

The collision happened just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday as the EMS vehicle was passing through the intersection of Blount Road at Scenic Highway, said Baton Rouge Police Cpl. L’Jean McKneely. The driver of a truck, which was facing a green light, didn’t notice the EMS vehicle with its lights and sirens on and rammed into the emergency transport.

No major injuries resulted from the crash, said EMS spokesman Mike Chustz. The transport was not carrying any patients at the time of the collision and another EMS unit was dispatched to the location of the original medical call.

No one was cited in the crash, McKneely said.
