A 20-year-old Alabama man was booked on a variety of traffic offenses Tuesday, including negligent homicide, in a fatal crash that occurred on Nov. 10 on Interstate 12, a Baton Rouge police spokesman said.

Justice Lovell, 20, 2359 Calloway Road, Gulf Shores, Ala., turned himself in to traffic homicide investigators Tuesday and was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of negligent homicide, reckless operation, careless operation, safety belt required and speeding, spokesman Sgt. Don Kelly said in a release.

Lovell was driving a Honda Odyssey eastbound on I-12 at O’Neal Lane when he ran into the back of a GMC Sierra that was stopped because of traffic congestion, resulting in the death of the driver of the GMC, Deborah Kennedy, 55, Denham Springs, Kelly said in the release.
