The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the woman accused of threatening to shoot up a local hospital after claiming she received excessive radiation during a January visit.
Desirie Coler, 48, had filed a complaint with her insurance provider Jan. 29 claiming she had been exposed to excessive radiation at the hospital, an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office report says. The report does not indicate whether she was being treated and does not identify the hospital.
On Thursday, she called her insurance provider, saying she was angry that no one had helped her and that “everyone is going to start paying attention to her when she shows up at the hospital with a gun and starts shooting people,” the report says.
Coler, 6630 Siegen Lane, said she “wanted everyone at the hospital to feel the pain like she does,” the report says.
Detectives were alerted the following day, but deputies could not reach her at her house. When they later spoke with Coler, she said she was not in town, the report says.
A warrant for Coler’s arrest was issued Friday on a count of terrorizing.
