A 28-year-old man arrested Friday is accused of intentionally setting a van on fire, according to an affidavit of probable cause from the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

A witness told authorities he was sitting in the back seat of David Angel’s car when Angel set fire to a 2002 Dodge Caravan in the 1100 block of Rodin Street, the affidavit says.

Angel got into his car and drove off after the fire, the affidavit says.

The witness told authorities he did not know Angel was going to set the van afire, the affidavit says.

Another witness said Angel admitted to starting the fire after Angel arrived back home, the affidavit says.

Angel, 10021 Elliott Road, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of simple arson.
