A Baton Rouge man has been arrested after allegedly setting fire to the home of a man who he thought had robbed him earlier in the day.
Quentin Thomas, 19, of 3735 Saint Katherine Ave., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Friday on a count of aggravated arson. Thomas is accused of pouring gasoline on a man's porch and lighting it on fire.
The incident occurred on Sept. 24 at a residence in the 2500 block of Edgewood Drive.
Thomas was identified as the suspect after a witness saw his car as he was allegedly leaving the scene, police said. Another witness told investigators Thomas had admitted to setting the fire, police said.
The fire, which caused about $190,000 in damage to the home, is believed to have been carried out in retaliation after a man possibly living at the home allegedly robbed Thomas earlier in the day, according to an arrest report.
Thomas had also filed a police report against the same person accusing him of a robbery, according to booking documents. Thomas was held on $15,000 bond.
