Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday arrested three men accused of stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise from about 25 unlocked vehicles late Monday and early Tuesday.

The men allegedly stole GPS devices, laptops and sports equipment that totalled between $3,000 and $6,000 in value, said Lori Steele, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. The men told deputies they targeted cars that had not been locked.

Arrested were Racey Ford, 21, of 24174 Milican Drive in Walker; Jacob Anderson, 21, of Hood Ridge in Prairieville; and Michael Terrell, 18, 12343 Laurel Ridge in St. Amant, Steele said.

“Thanks to citizens and law enforcement working together, three suspects were taken into custody within a matter of hours,” Sheriff Jason Ard said in the release.

The three were booked Tuesday into Livingston Parish Detention Center on counts of simple burglary and resisting an officer.
