A kitchen fire damaged a Baton Rouge home on Crestview Avenue Saturday, according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at 245 Crestview Ave. around 5:45 p.m., according to a news release issued by the fire department.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area, but the rest of the home received heavy smoke damage, the release stated.

There were no reported injuries and the Red Cross were notified to assist the family.

Fire department investigators have not determined a cause for the fire but do not suspect foul play.
