East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s detectives are seeking two people seen using stolen checks at three different Walmart stores between April 14 and April 17, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said.

The pair stole the checks from a mailbox in the 16000 block of Monitor Avenue and used them to buy groceries and gift cards at Walmart stores on North Mall Drive and College Drive in Baton Rouge and Airline Highway in Gonzales, Casey Rayborn Hicks said in a news release.

The first suspect is described as black, heavyset woman wearing a black and white shirt with black stone-washed jeans, Hicks said. The second suspect is described as a black heavyset man wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants.
