Investigators are looking into a Thursday afternoon fire at a Baton Rouge apartment.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, the Baton Rouge Fire Department report says. Firefighters found smoke coming from the front of the apartment, at 3002 Mason St., Apt. 70, and discovered the front door unlocked. No one was home.

The fire started shortly after 3 p.m. in the front bedroom, and firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading beyond that room, the report says.

The fire caused an estimated $10,000 worth of damage, the report says.
